Ancillary Coverage

Fill the gaps in your current insurance plan. Get the best overall coverage and extra protection for your peace of mind.

Ancillary coverage helps “fill the gaps” on your current insurance plan - get the best overall coverage with peace of mind.

Dental/Vision/Hearing coverage is the most popular supplemental option, which offers affordable monthly premiums and great coverage.

Cancer insurance is great for Medicare Advantage and Federal Marketplace beneficiaries - get a lump sum payment if you’re ever diagnosed.

Short-term and Long-term health plans help you with medical expenses if you ever need rehabilitation after an accident or illness.

For ancillary products, we’re referring to supplemental coverage that could cut costs and bring added protection to you. We recommend these products based on your needs, but also for those that just want further coverage for extra peace of mind.

We will break down what each product covers and how it could help you “fill in the gaps”. Some people, based on family history, will recognize the value immediately. Others may realize there are savings on the table for services they regularly receive. With healthcare costs on the rise, these supplemental options could help contain your out-of-pocket expenses when the time comes.

DVH (Dental, Vision, Hearing)

The most popular supplemental product we offer. Dental, vision, and hearing are typically not covered by original Medicare, Medigap, or even the VA. The exception is if it is medically required and Medicare-approved.

Most dental plans offer two preventative cleanings and one x-ray per year. Both are covered at 100% if you use an in-network dentist. This benefit alone justifies the monthly premium. Since dental plans are most often PPO’s, you can use out-of-network dentists, but you will have to pay more out of pocket. Comprehensive dental work is also covered at a coinsurance for popular services such as crowns, fillings, root canals, and implants. Some plans also cover orthodontia for you and your family.

    Frequently Asked Questions

I usually cash pay, is the dental plan really worth it?

Definitely worth it. It depends where you live, but the SC state average is $171 for one cleaning. If you receive two cleanings a year, that’s $342, not including any other work or an x-ray. If you’re just shopping for a plan to take care of your routine services, most plans start off around $26 per/mo, which equals out to be $312 annually. That includes two cleanings, an x-ray, and two exams per year for no additional cost if you use in-network services. Not to mention all the major discounts you receive if you need comprehensive services from your dentist.

Not at all, because we plan for the unexpected. Do you expect your house to burn down tomorrow? Well, no but you have homeowners’ insurance. What about your health, do you expect to fall into bad health this year? Not at all, but we insure ourselves just in case. In our minds, we expect every day to be generally the same – it’s like the inertia bias. It’s all about proper planning. Peace of mind and extra protection is never a waste.

We’re a brokerage, so we offer the same product from many different companies. The products may slightly differ between each company, so we pair you up with our idea of the best and most affordable option.
